The dev team has done their testing on the new hardware and everything is working as they anticipated. A video of the upcoming release should be out soon shortly followed by the jailbreak.

Stay tuned! MMi will be sure to keep you updated!

The official team have announced that it will be released in a few days!

So does this mean that, if i bought a sim locked iphone 3g without any contract, i would be able to unlock it to any carrier ???

All of this has gotten so confusing over the last few days

Yeah, but the difficulty might be buying a 3G without contract...

Any carrier that uses GSM. In the US, your only option besides ATT is T-Mobile and with T-Mobile you won't get 3G because their 3G operates at different frequencies than ATT's.

If you are in the UK, however, you can unlock it and use it on any network, they all use the same frequencys.

The only problem, as has been previously noted, is getting a iPhone 3G without the contract. Although, cant you get one shipped from one of them countries where Apple has to sell them unlocked by law? Or a Pay & Go one from O2-UK when its released?

3 Questions:

How did you get it from Switzerland?
How much was it?
If it's not possible to buy from there without knowing someone out there to post it on to you, would you be interested in selling it to me if its not going to be used?
