I've got one phone up and running. Didn't do anything different except re-do the process twice. MobileInstallation is working properly now. :)

i keep getting this ::

ssh: connect to host 192.168.2.2 port 22: Operation timed out

I'm having an issue as well. I've upgraded to 2.1 added a bunch of stuff thru ssh and rebooted. Now I add more applications via ssh and they dont show up. I can see them in the applications folder on the iphone and the permissions are set to 0755 but I dont see them on the springboard??? :confused:

all u do is go to the preferences of that app under the name of the menu bar and then delete the known host that it remembers from your last ip address and old firmware....

Are you trying to use cracked app store apps? If so the MobileInstallation permission needs to be 775 and the documents folders you create need to be set to 777.

I have done that the app is 775 and the /var/mobile/Documents is 777 but the app will NOT show up when i restart. urgg.

Were your 3rd party apps not showing up or were your own jailbreaked apps not showing up when you ssh them? I got a couple apps I am developing myself and I just ssh'ed them and they don't show up, even after respringing and rebooting, and permissions, etc.

What exactly did you do to fix this? Will this new patch file also allow for 3rd party (hacked) apps?

Fixed it. Thanks! Any idea what the difference is between the updated Mobile Installation file that is going around versus the one at your provided link?

Yes, this patch lets you SSH Cracked Apps in. And they will show up. This is only for first gen ipod touches and i thing 3G iphones too....

OK a little confused on this, do I do this on the iphone thru ssh? Thanks
