I just returned my macbook pro today (thank god for futureshop's no questions asked return policy). My MBP actually had alot of problems, including a warp'd case, the whine, fan ticking, and its very hot as well. AND it was eligible for the battery exchange. I was going to return it anyway, but to my surprise the new MBP came out today =)
The spec'd I had on that returned MBP was rev A high end model, which I have no idea why they still have in stock (but they had 10 of them, and both my friend and I each bought one, and we both returned it).
2.0ghz 1gb ram 256mb vram and 100gb hard drive
Now that its returned, I have problem deciding whether to pick up the High end 15" model? or the low end ?
Now the question is, will there be a huge difference between the 256mb vram and the 128mb vram? I don't really care much about the processor (2.16 vs 2.33), and after market ram is much cheaper anyway. The computer will be mainly used for coding, and world of war craft (I plan to sell my PC because the MBP I that i had for 2 weeks played wow extremely well. Will the 128mb play almost as well? How much of a difference in frame rate?
For you wow players out there, I'm in an end game raiding guild and performance does matter. If the MBP w/ 256mb vram i had played wow well enough, will the 128mb x1600 with the upgraded processor be as good in performance?
Does anyone play wow on a 128mb vram MBP? Please me know how is the frame rate on on hectic boss encounters with lots of spell effects? or even the suppression room (which did lag my pc down alot when we did bwl back in the day)
Oh, and the difference in price between the low end and the high end mbp is 600$ canadian (tax included) using the ADC Student discount, so the price gap is quite significant, which is why I'm asking this question.
Thanks!
