I'm currently on firmware 2.2.1 and I'm trying to jailbreak my iphone according to this tutorial,

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1558

It requires me to download ipsw file: iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw However after multiple attempts, partway through the download, I keep on getting an error message indicating source file could not be read.

Question is, do I need to download this file? From my understanding, if I already have 2.2.1 on my iphone, than a copy of this ispw is located somewhere on my hard drive already.

OR is this a custom ipsw file that I need to perform the jailbreak?

Thanks in advance!! :D

This may be helpful....This is the error message that I am receiving:

Desktop/Pwnage/iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw.part.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

You should really read up on how each different .ipsw really works. To jailbreak you need a custom made .ipsw, to create one, you need PwnageTool which reads from an original .ipsw from Apple.
