The best way i can describe this is with CRT monitors. In many films that have CRT monitors, you see running waves running from top to bottom, which is the monitor refreshing itself.

My 2.2 SR MacBookPro seems to be doing this. It is especially evident when the brightness isnt at full brightness or isnt at the last bar before the displays is dim, and on a colored background.. Anybody else getting something similar to this?

If you're close to an Apple store, I'd recommend checking a display model and seeing if it does the same thing. If it doesn't, they should exchange it for you.

If a display model exhibits the same behavior, then you have to decide whether it's worth returning. Sometimes I know when I get expensive new gear I'm a little overcritical of things that after a week or so I get used to and forget about. I say this mainly thinking of the infamous "whine".
