I am torn between 2.4 and 2.8GHz 24" imac. I will be using it mostly for photos and light home video editing and also internet. Is it worth the extra money and will i be able to see the difference performance wise? I would probably bump up the ram myself to 4gb. Any recommendations?

I think you should just get the 2.4 Ghz and save the extra money. I don't think you will notice a difference between 2.4 and 2.8 if all you are doing is light video editing, photos, and Internet.

But yes, definitely upgrade the memory.

How long to you plan on keeping this? If you think you will keep it for 3 - 5 years, then I would say go ahead and get the 2.8 GHz model, but if you like to upgrade your computer every year or every other year, then just get the 2.4 GHz model.

I would recommend upgrading the RAM to 4GB. I bought 2 x 2GB sticks early this year for $95.
