Update was just a few days ago. To be honest, it's very little extra performance for quite a price hike. Even if it had been available when I bought my 17" MBP recently, I wouldn't have bothered....

No other updates for the MBP, just the 2.6 GHz CTO-Option.

Guess what, people can comment on what they think is an obscene price for a small upgrade. Just like apple's price on 4GB ram...compare that to the price I got on 4GB from buy.com for crucial RAM $113 shipped!

$316 for the Duo T7700 (2.4 GHz) and $530 for the Duo T7800 (2.6 GHz) per 1000. Apple charging $250 for that isn't terribily obscene.

Apple is basically giving away the X7900(2.8 GHz) in the iMac.

the 250gb option isn't new, just that it is 5400rpm... my 17 has the older 4200rpm 250gb drive (still quick enough for me though)
