Hi All-
I was wondering if any of you can help me verify something.
I Just got my 24" iMac, 2.8 Core 2 Extreme (nice) from Macconnection.
Originally it was listed as, what I thought was a non-standard configuration.
I didn't think there was a 2.8 Core 2 Duo and I suspected it was a mistake so I emailed support. They told me I was correct and that the iMac was listed incorrectly.
They changed the listing on their site to read "2.8GHz core 2 extreme" and I bought it. My Receipt says core 2 Extreme as well.
I was happy to take a smaller drive and only 1 GB of RAM. I already have a HUGE firewire drive and upgrading RAM to 4GB is only + $160 bucks.
So now I have the machine. I am all set up and happy. and I go to the system profiler and it in fact tells me that the processor is a "2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo"
Huh?
Would it list it as "extreme" in the profiler?
Is there a 2.8 core 2 Duo?
Can somebody with a 2.8 GHz Core 2 extreme take a look and tell me what it says in the system profiler or "about this mac" in the apple menu.
Cheers, Happy New Year.
