2.8 for gaming and windows?

Is there any advantage on the 2.8 for gaming and running windows?

I had planed to get the 2.4 and max out the RAM (third party) but now am still thinking towards the 2.8.

I want the imac to last me a fair few years, my last computer has probably lasted me about 7 years so its defantly time for a change.

sorry, the reason I posted was because I was going to also mention eyeTV but forgot.

so is there any advantage with 2.8 for eyeTV?

There shouldnt be any problems using eyeTV on a 2.4 vs. 2.8. Especially with the eyeTV 250, since it has a built in hardware encoder.

TV Tuners doesnt require high system specs really, i have been using it on very old PCs with crap specs without problems.

If u are doing video editing and apply lots of effects that need to be rendered in the movie, its quite CPU demanding, shouldnt be a problem with the TV resolution though. Im editing in 1280x1024, thats pretty tough, but the low tv resolution aint a problem. I dont know how hardware demanding imovie is to edit in, i have only used Sony Vegas 7 on my quite powerful PC.

I just bought the eyeTV 250 plus (havent tried it yet, since i havent recieved my iMac yet ) but its a fine piece of hardware from the looks of it

Oh, and for gaming there aint any performance gain on the 2.8 vs. 2.4, since the bottleneck is the gfx card. 2gb ram is recommended though, to avoid buffer loading in game.
