Hi all... I think these are pretty basic questions - but want to make sure I do it right...

I have Apple Extreme Wireless in my house...

I have an LG Infinia Tv eith wireless internet capabilities mounted on the wall. All the wires are in the wall and are hooked up to my Home Theater receiver (about 15 feet away)

1) If I use an HDMI chord to plug my Apple Tv into my receiver, I do not see it on my tv. I'm assuming this is because I have not yet purchased the WiFi USB adaptor for the TV. Once I do this (and connect it to my home network), will Apple Tv show up on the screen to be configured?

2) I currently stream my iTunes to several different boom boxes throughout the house - including my home theater - using several Apple Expreses so that the music plays throughout the house. Will Apple TV take the place of one of my apple Express units? I've heard that Apple Tv will not show up in my Apple Extreme menu when I am deciding which speakers will play. I know Apple Tv will let me stream the music to my home theater, but will it work in conjunction with my other Apple Express's so the music will play all through the house?

Thanks!

Your first question sounds quite specific to your particular setup and equipment, so I can't help with that, other than to say that generally the Apple TV is connected to your system in the same way as you would connect any HDMI equipment (Ps3, Blu-Ray, Satellite receiver etc).

As for the second question, I'm not quite sure what you mean by the Apple TV not showing up in the Extreme Menu, but I can confirm that the Apple TV can be used as an Airplay speaker in the same way that Airport Expresses are.

In iTunes you just select multiple speakers and then you should see all your Airport Expresses and Apple TV's which you can select any combination you like for audio output.

Thanks for the help...

Probably a better way to explain it is to say that since our tv is mounted on the wall (with nothing below it) - it is not possible to plug APPLE Tv directly in to the Tv. I am hoping I can connect it to the receiver (which IS connected to my Tv via HDMI) and it will show up on my TV once I set the Tv up for to receive my wireless network.....

your apple tv, and the wireless adapter for your tv have NOTHING to do with each other.

the appleTV will connect to the tv (or receiver) via HDMI, and everything between the appleTV and the TV will go over that connection. Just the same as a blu-ray player or a cable box.

The apple tv will then connect to your wired or wireless network to get it's content.
