iMac 24" 2.4 Ghz
MBP 15" 2.4 Ghz 4gb 7200 RPM 160 HD

Both machines are great!! The iMac is even more stunning in person than you can imagine.

Something funny I noticed at Apple. NO new iMacs were out, and when I asked for the new iMac they played stupid at first and tried to get me to buy the 2k older one. Sounds like they are getting rid of some stock first.

Wow, LOVE the Mac set up! Have anymore pics of the new iMac? I would love to get a MBP but my Dell (albeit crappy) is sufficient enough right now, and I am focusing on getting a new desktop first. Congrats on the purchase! Have a review for us not fortunate?

Oh i have got lots of iMac pics if you want them... but its unboxing stuff... oh by the way the keyboard is amazingly thin feels like I am typing on my old macbook... love it. The screen is WAY bigger then you think. So far everything has been flawless!!
I will get pictures up in a minute... anything in particular??

Hey whatever you are wilingl to put up! I don't know what it is, but it's so much cooler seeing unpacking pictures as opposed to professional ones. How's the glare on the screen (if any)?

I'm gonna order online eventually and just get all the options in attempts of trying to "future-proof" it the best that I can and that's when I make my official switch!

Although in the pictures it seems to show glare, we do not see any while watching the simpsons up close or far away. In fact I am not sure why in pictures you see glare but not in person, I just tried it on my TV and same thing. If glare is your worry... I would not worry! Of course this depends on your set up. I have a overhead fan light, a desk light directly above pointing down and a window behind me (while taking pictures). But when using it in person absolutely no glare.

Some pics are too big to upload to MR and I am not sure how to shrink them down so here is my photobucket site.

unboxing photos are kind of out of order sorry. tell me what you think

How is the keyboard? Normal to use or does it seem like you will need to get used to it?

Love 'em! They make me want to jump the gun and get one now, but I'm gonna restrain myself and wait for Leopard to come out. Thanks for the extra pics too! Have fun!

The keyboard is great. I tend to like it more than the older keyboards. Basically it feels like a macbook board if you havef let one of those. FLat, spread out, but it is lifted so it is easier to use in my opinion. No getting used to. It is great!!

Waiting for leopard I understand. But if you are a college student think of it this way: 100$ off, free iPod 199$, free printer 99$. That is almost 400$ in freebies that you cannnot get in october. Leopard is 130$. I am selling the printer and iPod... so its a better deal for me I think. If you are not a college student it does not work that way.

Does anyone else have the new iMac?? How are you likeing it?

That is a good point, plus the discount ends up being about $300 off with all the options (1TB, 4GB ram, wireless mouse, protection plan, 2.8ghz) and ends up being $3300. Then consider knocking off the printer (which I didn't know was free) and the iPod, thats a good chunk of change saved! I was surprised that I can save more with the student discount as opposed to the government one.

Can you run GeekBench on your new machine? Have you tried running games, how is the new graphics card? Any comments on the glossy display?
