Just got my new phone. Can I install the same apps on both phones from the same iTunes account? Or is each app licences for one account? I know apps like beejive can be funny about licences.

apps are sold by the account, not the device. You can install on as many devices as you like as long as they are connected to the same account.

Each app can be used on as many devices that sync with the same iTunes account.

Every iPhone/iPod Touch is linked to an iTunes account. As long as they are all linked to the same one, you should be able to share any apps between them.

Congrats on your new iPhone!

Now, I hate to come down all hard on you, but a cursory search of the forum would've given you an answer immediately. I only recently answered one poster saying that I had no problems synching my (3) i-Devices unto my same account. It's a breeze.

It is actually pretty cool. You get apps and if you have more than 1 phone in the house, you end up with multiple people being able to use it.

I have two iphones in my house, and it is a nice benefit.

It sometimes makes the decision on buying an app or not buying it easier, as it provides more value, potentially, if it is of any use to the other person using the other phone or phones.

Sorry about not searching before posting - I was on my phone, on a train with very poor signal and it was slightly easier to type and post when I got a signal!

Thanks for the answers - as for backups and update of the phones (apps, contacts, texts etc) do all the phones end up being 'synced' or does each phone have a separate backup?
