It's windows. problems are expected. BSODs are welcomed with open arms. Dealing with a ram hog is mandatory.

Anyway, I believe Apple designed the trackpad driver for people to always have their thumb on the bottom of the trackpad.
One finger clicking works better if the thumb is on the bottom, two finger clicking works (well... still three fingers), and the mouse doesn't jump all over the screen erratically if you have your thumb on the bottom of the trackpad.
As for the tap to click, I disabled it. I found it very annoying while typing, then the mouse would move to another location randomly.
