2 gb of ram. Kits or two single chips. Difference?

I'm looking into buying ram for a macbook. I want 2gbs. I see single stick for 1gb and I could just buy two and have 2gbs. But then I sometimes I see 2gb kits that come with 2X1gb, but they cost more! What is the difference between just buying two sticks seperate against paying a little extra and buying a 2 stick kit? Would a kit be better???

There's no difference between buying a kit or two identical sticks. As long as they're the same identical parts, they are no different. I bought two 1 GB sticks back in July for my Macbook on Newegg.com for $79.99 each. These were Patriot brand RAM. And I haven't ran into any problems since.

All I know is that RAM pricing has somewhat skyrocketed! Now each 1 GB seems to cost around $119! I'm glad I bought it back in July.
