Has anyone here setup using two iClouds (for two users) on one Mac etc yet? I want to know how it works.

- I have my iPhone, and I sync my calender from iCal to iCloud and my contacts (Safari and my iPhone)
- My girlfriend will be using iOS5 on her iPhone, and sharing my calender (which I will share) and syncing her contacts to her own iCloud (She uses Firefox)
- We currently use the same address book, but with groups setup for my contacts and her contacts. After getting iCloud setup on my iPhone last night, I now have her contacts on my phone too, but I just view me group (which works great).

My question is will there be any syncing issues when she connects her iPhone up and it starts to look and sync at the Lion (with iCloud update) address book?

Sorry this is a little confusing, basically, will this work between one mac, two iphones and two iClouds? :)

(for anyone wondering, we use a seperate broswer because she likes to have loads of favourites etc and I just use Safari with instapaper etc, dunno why really :) )

thanks!

I did this with my iphone and my wifes last night. I was very nervous she would loose her contacts and stuff. But I never checked the box to sync contacts. I did have to authorize her iphone to use my computer though. It actually let me put apps i had bought on her phone too. Just make sure when you connect it to your computer that you check what you want it to sync. After updating and restoring all of her contacts stayed the same. So I cannot tell you 100% that this will happen to you. I can tell you it has worked for me so far.

I am a little bit confused about the exact steps I should take. My iPhone and iCloud is all set up now, so it's just my partners that needs updating to iOS5, and linking with iCloud (which hasn't been setup but she does have an Apple ID).

We both use the same login on the Mac btw, but have our own Apple IDs.

After recommendation from a couple of other sources, I decided to try out creating an iCloud just for our contacts to share between two iPhones.

Duplicating the contacts in our current address groups into the new iCloud address book is a royal pain in the ass. Entries were getting duplicated, not showing up on the cloud properly in their groups and overall it's a messy and overly long process. No, I couldn't believe it either.

However, we now have one iCloud account which is just for our contacts. My primary iCloud will be photos, find my phone etc, and it's cool being able to turn on and off features within the iPhones iCloud settings, per account.

I guess overall iCloud is about sharing between devices, not users, but considering how slickly Apple allow you to share iCal with another Apple ID, I was a little surprised that it's not the case with Contacts.

Still, it's done now!
