Hello,

I work in an IT support desk and I've been facing an issue with one of our VIP user.

She has an iPhone, registered with her husband Apple ID.
So the husband uses the same Apple ID on his phone too.

However, every call he makes, misses, or receives, is also showing on the call log of our VIP. That "was not the case previously" (we have just switched carriers but we think it's not the cause).

We tried to disable continuity, Handoff, and disable "Phone" and "Contacts" sync in iCloud parameters, but so far it's unsuccessful.

Is there a way to disable this sync without creating another Apple ID?

Thanks !

Not true. Apple IDs can be and oftentimes are shared across devices. I’m doing it too. Regarding call log sharing: With iOS 17 Apple have introduced a new bug about this. Call log sharing cannot be disabled at the moment. Believe me, I’ve tried. Highly irritating bug.

Shared across devices - sure! I am using four iPhones myself at the moment.

Shared across more than one person - not intended.

Yes, but I assume you’re the only person using these devices. Apple IDs are intended to be used by a single person.
From Apple’s FAQ about Apple IDs: https://appleid.apple.com/faq
“Your Apple ID should not be shared with anyone else.”

I'm signed into a couple of phones with my AppleID, this has always been the case.

No, AppleIDs are designed to be used by one person only, that's why the info syncs.

Thanks for your replies.

What I understand is that :

An Apple ID has always been designed to be used by one user, on multiple devices even if it works with different "physical" users AND
iOS 17 introduced a bug preventing disabling Call history sync between devices.
