What are you smoking? Microsoft has been trying for years to beat google. Remember msn? live? now bing. Google has done nothing different yet they are still number 1.
Look the iPhone will always be supreme because of the app store. Its the number 1 device and because of that it will have more apps. More apps means its the number 1 device and that means it will have more apps. Its a positive loop cycle.
Sure there are people who want to be "different" and get a droid. But those people are few and most of them would get an iPhone if it was offered on there service.
What's with the whole "What are you smoking?" comment. That is really unnecessary and immature. Do you realize that Android is much more then just the Droid and even Google for that matter?
Check this out...
"The Open Handset Alliance (OHA) is a business alliance of 50 firms including Google, HTC, Intel, Motorola, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Samsung, LG, T-Mobile, Nvidia, and Wind River Systems to develop open standards for mobile devices."

Now think for a minute... If all of those companies are behind Android (11 of them are actually handset manufacturers including fairly significant players like Motorola, HTC, Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson) don't think they have a possibility of changing the smartphone market as we know it in the next few years? Apple is the iPhone (along with AT&T in the US) Android is for everyone else. On top of all of those companies, Google is going to be marketing their own phone (built by HTC) and Motorola has several additional handsets planned for 2010. My prediction is that Android will experience very rapid growth in 2010.
As far as Apple always having more or better apps? That might not be the case in the future. Apple is locked down to one phone (and in the case of the US, their largest market, one carrier). Android has unlimited possibilities and choices. Besides how many people really have 100,000+ apps on their phone and of those 100,000+ how many are just plain crap?
Seriously though just keep thinking Android is a joke. I know I am happy with my Droid and after viewing videos of Android 2.1 things are only getting better. I like Apple stuff, heck I own plenty of it, but I don't just buy for the brand. I buy what works for me.
