So, after I did some digging, the MacRumors article that was just released (https://www.macrumors.com/2017/05/31/apple-registers-new-macs-ipads-eurasia/) , I decided to see what the codes are actually tied to:

"The five new Macs, identified only with the model numbers A1289, A1347, A1418, A1419, and A1481, are likely to be new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros alongside a new 12-inch MacBook, with the outside chance of a new upgraded MacBook Air also in the frame"

You can verify this on everymac, the codes A1418 & A1419 refer to 21.5" & 27" iMacs, not MacBooks. They are recycled numbers for upgrades that involve CPU, GPU, retina, etc...non-case upgrades. The downside is, this doesn't necessarily mean they will be announce now.

Interesting! Looking at the other model numbers: A1289 is the old cheesegrater Mac Pro, A1347 is a Mac Mini, and A1481 is a trashcan Mac Pro.

I'm not convinced that Apple will release both a new cheesegrater Mac Pro with updated internals, and a new trashcan. What about the new design? However, if Apple did do that then many people will be very happy.

Perhaps Apple is registering old Mac models, perhaps the information is wrong, or perhaps Apple really is going to revive the cheesegrater. Hmm...

This crazy many new machines on a developer conference? Why not stay on topic with macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS, and keep new machines for the fall?

You're absolutely correct about the other labels.

I suspect you may be right about this just being a registration of old macs because 1) this seems too good to be true, & 2) they didn't register any MacBooks which should have at least one upgrade due.

But then again, maybe they're going to try the tower again because of cost, the the upgradability does appeal to pro users. In the end, we will just have to see.
