Folks,

I would like to attach a 2nd console screen + keyboard + mouse to a Mac Pro family Mac. Linux can do it with a 2nd graphics card, but I did not find anything for it on the Mac.

I am not looking for VNC/ARD etc. but rather to have two full consoles on a single computer.

Anybody?

kvm switchs and different usernames?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you want to do.

under X one can open another console on an additional a physical video device easily

Umm.. click the link and read the page. ;) The answer waits within.

I did. Did you?

All they need is a computer or PDA running a VNC viewer to access OSXvnc. Now you have a use for all those old PC's!

Launch a VNC viewer on another machine and enter the connection information for the machine that you just configured. If you are using Chicken of The VNC you should see each screen via Bonjour. Otherwise, each user has an associated Display Number which corresponds to the port number 5900.

VNC, ARD etc. is not a physical console screen - the question pertains to how to start WindowManager etc. on a physical 2nd monitor.
