Okay, so I'm coming from an iPhone 7 Plus with 3D touch. I know the SE doesn't have 3D touch anymore, but how do I reply to a text message on the lock screen. I press and hold and nothing happens. The best I can do is swipe to the left and then hit view, but that's not as simple as the hard press was on the iPhone 7 Plus. Please tell me this is how I have to respond to messages from now on.

Question 2: When I try to view HDR content on YouTube, it doesn't give me the option to select 1080p/60 HDR. Does YouTube have to be updated for the iPhone SE or something. I just read an article from 2018 that said YouTube was updated to support HDR video on the iPhones that are HDR compatible and from what I read, the SE has HDR support. Am I wrong about that?

I also tried Netflix but I couldn't tell if what I was watching was actually in HDR as there's no indicator of what the steam is doing.

Help?

Apparently you aren't alone

I thought I heard that YouTube was reducing its resolution during the pandemic to reduce bandwidth consumption. That may be a YouTube issue then, not the SE

YouTube, Netflix, amazon, all of them cut their bandwidth. No 4K, no 1440P, just the basics. If you do get those resolutions, then bandwidth is not an issue in your area.

Having messages show on the lock screen and replying from the lock screen is a habit to get out of ASAP. It's an extreme security risk if you lose the phone and someone finds it.

I'm the author of the other post asking about the 'reply to message' not working from the lock screen. Looks like it's a software bug, I'd recommend submitting a ticket with apple to track the bug. I'm going to do the same.

Not sure how others are using it but in my case using FaceID, the message can't be read or replied to without the phone being unlocked so if the face scan fails you can't read or respond to the message. Touchid can do the same so hopefully anyone using this option would be protecting themselves

if I lose the phone, I erase it remotely

You can choose to hide your messages on your screen. All that show up is that you have a message. But the contents are blocked until the phone is unlocked.

Is there a way to disable this? I like being able to see my messages without unlocking. This is one of my questions about upgrading from my 6.
