2 sets of airpods with same apple account?

Can I use 2 sets of airpods with the same apple ID? maybe just rename the 2nd pair to something else? Or will i constantly have to switch/repair as I go back and forth?

I do this all the time without issue. I keep an older pair in my truck, in case I leave my primary set at home. I did name the two pair different names.

Yep, same here. I keep my original iPods in my car and my newer Ipods, I use everywhere else, like in my home office. No issues at all...As long as you give each pair a unique name, you are good to go...
