Hello,

Does anyone know if there was a recent update? Or maybe someone else who is also experiencing this:

I have a new pair of AirPods Pro (2 months old) and a few days ago noticed the left AirPod is always at a very low battery percentage, even after being in a fully charged case. The right one is fine. I've taken it out, used it until it died (a few minutes), put it back in and it hasn't charged much at all (still in the red).

My friend has a new pair of standard AirPods and is having the same issue.

Anyone else?

Couldn't swear it is the same issue, but I too have noticed that periodically the left doesn't charge correctly. But only sometimes. I always confirm that the light flashes when I put them back in the case. So something funky is definitely happening.

I experience this too but with the right airpod. I think sometimes the connection isn't exactly right or it slightly shifts after closing the case so it doesn't charge. Could be there is some dirt or something blocking the airpod from seating correctly. I doubt it's anything specific to right or left.

I’ve also been struggling with the left Airpod Pro sometimes not charging. I’ve resorted to opening up the Battery widget view on my iPhone so that I can see if it’s started charging or not. If it isn’t. I have to slowly wiggle it until it starts charging.

If the Apple Stores were open I’d make a Genius Bar appointment for the issue.

I have also had issues with the left one not charging sometimes. Today had to take in and out of the case several times before it started. Have also had issues with the right one losing sound periodically and have to put it back in case for a minute or so before it works again. Very annoyed about this product. Love them but they clearly don’t ’just work’.

I took one of those dental probing tools and very, very slightly bent the left charging pin in the case outward so it made more robust contact. Seems to have fixed the problem.

I have this issue with my left Pro a lot...delaying a run to charge it as I type this. I used to have the same issue with my left 1st gen, too. My wife got those handed down when I got the Pros and hasn’t said anything about it, but now I’m curious.

Funny that it's always the Left one. I've had the same issue intermittently since I got my original v1 AirPods. I think what is actually happening, at least in my case, is that the left AirPod is actually connecting to one of my devices when it's in the case. On my iPad, on the left side of the home screen I have a 'widget' (not sure of the correct term) that shows the battery life of my devices (iPad, pencil, etc) and I'll occasionally see my Left AirPods on there, even though it's in the case. So instead of charging, it's draining the battery. Then when I go to use the AirPods later, the left one is run down.

I think it’s because the charging pin is not making a connection, so it thinks it’s out of the case. If you bend the gold pins at the bottom of the case slightly outward more, it’ll make a better connection and should solve it.

How can you bend those pins? I don't have any tools that will reach them & I'm not even sure what to look for that would fit down the hole but still be able to grab that pin. Thanks in advance,

I had a problem with my left Airpod Pro not charging and the problem was the case. One of the pins wouldn’t make proper contact. Apple had to replace the case for me.

Here is what it looked like. Both should be gold colored but one of mine had a green coating. I think it came from Apple that way because I had problems with it from Day 1.
