How does a person make a backup of their bookmarks in Safari?

How does a person make a backup of the information that itunes creates, such as playlists and ratings so if i bought a new machine i won't have to rate my songs again?

Well for iTunes, the iTunes Library in your Music folder (or wherever you have your MP3s) may hold the ratings (they may be embedded in the song itself, I don't remember), so copy that file along with your MP3s and you'll be gold.

Safari bookmarks are in /yourusername/Library/Safari as bookmarks.plist.

:)

edit: can someone confirm that playlists are kept in the iTunes Library file?
