I recently noticed that my iPhone 13 Pro has two stock Reminders apps. Both are exactly the same in terms of content. I tried a hard reset, but that didn’t do anything. I’ve never seen anything like this before with iOS. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks

delete them both off the home screen, don't fully delete it
if both show up just uninstall one of them; should be backed up no?

Thanks for the reply. I deleted one but it deleted both of them. I had to re-install from the App Store. Seems like it’s back to normal with only one app showing now. Still curious what would cause 2 of the same stock apps to appear.

Well, ****. Disregard what I just said. It’s still showing 2 apps. It just rearranged one on my home screen that I didn’t notice before my previous reply.

It's part of the new Focus feature with custom home screens.

I don't have the details but that should point you in the right direction for removing the duplicate app. I've seen people create an entire Home Screen with the same app, lol.

Thanks for the reply. I have yet to set up any Focus settings, except DND with only time, no apps. It’s prolly just an iOS 15.1 bug.

I just played with it. You can add the same app multiple times onto any Home Screen. To remove the duplicated app, just long press and choose remove from Home Screen. If that's not working, try rebooting afterwards and try again if needed.

Wow, that’s crazy!!

Doesn’t that go against the entire iOS homescreen philosophy(?)

It's part of the new Focus feature. Each Focus mode allows you to select a custom Home Screen for that mode when it's turned on. So, you can make different home screens pages and have the same app on multiple home screens.

Yeah, it's not very intuitive and weird that you can add the same app multiple times on a single home page. I guess they're not checking for that.

I understand what ur saying about the new Focus feature with having the same app on more then one home screen but I don’t have anything set up with Focus but still have two of the same apps.

Yeah it looks to me like you can literally drag the same app icon multiple times from the App Library and put them next to each other on the same Home Screen.

What would happen in iOS 14, after introduction of the app library but before addition of Focus mode, when the user tried the same thing?
