Wasn't sure how to explain the the title, but I got the first season of Walking Dead, converted with HandBrake so I can watch on my Apple TV, but two episodes show up together in iTunes:

How do I separate them? I've never seen this before.

OK, after adding more information in iTunes my problem seems to be fixed. What has me confused now is why episode 5 always shows up before 4? I may have named them wrong, but iTunes couldn't know that. Anywhere I can go to maybe get the length of the episodes so I can make sure I have them in the correct order?

chances are it's sorting by the track number field.
you'll have to look at the length of the version you copied them from.

take a look at identify 2 to keep this from happening in the future.
it looks at the file names (need to be something like "walking dead.S01.E01.mp4" for it to find it), and tags the appropriate files. after you handbrake, you process the files with identify, and it fills all the appropriate tags.

In the Get Info box in iTunes, under the Sorting tab, the Sort Name should read "Walking Dead S1E04", etc. This will force correct sorting. The file itself can be named anything, unless you are using a second party tagger like identify, but it does need to end in .m4v to go into iTunes properly.

OK, thanks for the help. Handbrake was going to name them the same, so I guessed at which one was each episode and named them myself. I guess I will have to just try to figure them out.

And as far as sorting, you are probably right because after playing around it is correct now.

Thanks again. And if anyone had this show and could check the lengths, that would be great.:D

I checked against mine and it looks like the you have the episodes in the correct order.

As far as naming and sorting, if you have any TV Shows from the iTunes store I would look at those and duplicate the format. Make sure to look at all the tabs on the info screen. I can take some screen shots when I get home to show you what mine looks like if you want.

Great, thank you very much. I think I am good, you don't need to take screenshots I don't think. I am not real picky, I just wanted them to display correctly and sort properly. I did go in and add more info, so I think everything is good. I did have some shows purchased from iTunes, that helped looking at those, thanks.

You could also use a tagging app like Subler to add all the tagging info before putting the files into iTunes.
