umm, i was just looking at a pic of a macbook, and mine definitly has a different keyboard.

The one i saw, had an upside down L shaped enter key.

Mine has a straigh Enter key


Whats the deal?

mines also turning brown, is mine just the old plastic? i didnt know they redesigned the layout?

I believe the straight 'enter' key is part of the American layout whereas the L-Shaped 'enter' key is part of the British layout, and possibly Europe in general.

You're right. The US Macbooks have the straight 'Enter' key.

The American keyboards changed when IBM introduced the PS/2 line with the 101 key keyboard and put the '\' key in a place of prominence since you needed it so much. Well, programmers needed it a lot. Obviously, the dead/ISO key isn't used by Americans so they left it out.

It's amazing how much keyboards have changed since the early days.

For the record i prefer the American layout, things are spelt out more. Keys like Option key actually say option on the key. British is mostly symbol based.
