I have an early 2009 that I upgraded to 5,1. It's a dual 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and I'm thinking about upgrading the processors to 2 x 3.06 GHz 6 core Xeon X5675. Would that be an improvement in processor speed?

Yes it would be an improvement with single core (+42%) and multicore (+80%). Depending on your workflows you will either notice it clearly, or then again, maybe not. EveryMac and Geekbench scores below:

Thanks and another quick queston, can I install ddr3-1333mhz memory with dual intel xeon x5675 cpus or do they need to be 1066mhz
