20" iMac Firewire Question

Have a question for you 20" iMac guys. Does anyone have a first gen 5gig iPod that they have hooked up to their 20" iMac?

The reason I ask is that my new 20" will not recognize my 1st gen iPod or my Maxtor One touch hard drive. I have tried both firewire ports on the mac and multiple cables.

My iBook G3 sees them both just fine and the iMac can see and use the Maxtor through USB just fine. Im wondering if my firewire post isnt dead.

Any suggestions?

FYI - Got an answer on my Maxtor at least. MacInTouch has these things listed on thier known tiger issues. Ill just use the USB for now.

Im still puzzled about the 1st gen iPod though.

Maybe try resetting your SMU. AFAIK, it's the same technique for the new Intel machines as it was for the later model G5 machines.
