20" iMac Noise

When I wake my computer up from sleep the fan makes a whirring noise and then quiets down. Is this normal? I bought this computer about two weeks ago and although I can't say for sure, I believe the noise has become a little worse over time.

Happens on mine too. I always assumed it was normal. Happens on a Power Mac G5 I use at work too. I think it's a precautionary thing, i.e. in case the processor is really hot before the machine turns on for some reason, the thing starts up the fan automatically and quickly kicks it down once the temperature sensor notices that it's not hot.

It's normal. At school, I have a class with a lab of iMacs and Mac Pros and each one does that. Even my 24"er at home. Don't fret.
