20 inch ACD or 23 inch ACD

Hi,

I'm going to be buying a new Powermac in the next week and am not sure whether to purchase the 20 inch screen or 23 inch screen.
I do a reasonable amount of video editing, but only DV. I am not sure which to choose. I know the 23 inch is fully HD which really appeals to me as it is very future proof like that. At the moment I am working on a 12 inch powerbook and it is really starting to annoy me, any screen is a step up, but I'd be really pleased with some recommendations.

I'd go with the 23". Having looked at them alot in the Apple store, you get a significant amoun of realestate. Price drops today as well, so you get a good deal.

Get the 24" dell flatpanel. It can be had for about $780 after some coupons.

The 20-inch is beautiful.

if you need the extra screen real estate and you can afford it, get the 23-inch.


In my opinion, they are both worth what they offer.

I couldn't spend the money on a quad G5, spanking new glass desk, HP wireless printer and then put a Dell on it! Thanks for the advice though.

It really depends on what you need. I was convinced that the 20" looked too small for me and was going with the 23" but then a good deal came my way so I got the 20" and coming from a 17" CRT (and when not comparing it side by side with the 23" and 30" in the Apple store!) it seems huge.

Only way to be sure is to try and use one before you buy.

If you can easily afford the 23", go with that. Although I'm a bit perturbed by the tales of woe with the 23" screens.
