so i got the 2005fpw today, the dvi connection looks really nice! but when i switch it to composite to play my PS2, it looks all fuzzy, my 12 yr old TV looks better. does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
The PS2 is putting out native TV resolutions (640×480, I think). The monitor is stretching it out to 1680x1050. That is why it is fuzzy. If you adjust the monitor to keep aspect ratio, it will get a little better, but not much.
Composite sucks monkey balls anyway. Buy yourself an svideo cable. Still wont be great but damn site better than composite phono.
Also remember not only is the resolution lower, but it's also interlaced.
An LCD monitor picks up on all the missing lines making things like jaggies even worse.
You could get a VGA adapter and run the 6 games on the ps2 with progressive, but it isn't worth it. PS2 is always going to look better on CRT than on LCD.
