Hi,

So i was going to get a Mac Pro, but i think it's overkill for my needs, so i'm going to get the cheaper iMac and treat myself to a new iPod Touch :D

However i'm unsure of which size to go for. I heard there were problems about the 20", have these been fixed. And If i can afford the 24" should i just go and get one of those?

I need it within the next week or so (my ibook is dying!) and i've got some Final Cut projects coming up (The iMac will run Final Cut well wont it?)

I'll bump up the RAM to 4GB as i'll be using maya and photoshop/other CS3 apps too, so will benefit from all the RAM i can get.

What is the new keyboard like to use? I'm tempted to get one of the older white keyboards of eBay as they look more useable to me? I've used the macbook keyboard and i find you really have to bash the keys quite hard to make them work.

Any comments welcome!!

I think it was the 24" that had all the screen problems. If your iBook can wait a little while longer, you might be better waiting til february for the new iMacs..

As for the RAM, don't buy from Apple. Get the lowest amount of RAM possible in your iMac and buy the extra RAM from a third party.

The new keyboards are nice but I have the white one because it's more comfortable to use (I went to my local apple store to buy the white one after the silver ones were released...luckily they still had them :))

yeh defo getting RAM from crucial (£60 vs £500, hmmm....)

Also, second display? Work ok? Must look a bit funny?
