20" White iMac C2D CPU fan noise / flutter

After playing with SMCFancontrol, I've concluded that the CPU fan on my white iMac C2D is making a flutter / rattle type sound at low RPMs. What size is the fan, and does anyone know if I can replace it with a quieter aftermarket fan without causing problems?
