Ah, the Newton. Yeah, there were issues, but I'm still sad Steve killed it. It was just awesome back in the day, and it had real potential.

OMG! Where can I get one of those? That makes my S3 look like crap. And the plastic casing on that Newton looked like it was made from one solid chunk of plastic. Just stunning craftsmanship. And that resistive 120x200 display looks almost retina like. I could even make out that a mail icon was on there! :D

J/K The Newton was an awesome and very innovative / futuristic product in its day. I wanted one so badly, but only had enough money for a Commodore 64. A Mac and Newton was too much. I really wish Steve was still with us. He WAS Apple and he pushed that company to innovate. Now... :(

I remember seeing these back in the day. When you think about it, at their core, smartphones can't do all that much more than a newton. The graphics are better, and we can browse the web, but basically the common functions are the same. Seeing this video kind of makes you wonder why Apple waited so long to enter the smartphone business.

Amazingly ahead of its time.

Star Trek coined the word "beam" as a transmission of data from one point to another long before Apple ever existed. So maybe Gene Roddenberry should have sued Apple in the 80's? Or maybe you are to young to know what, and to whom, I am referring?
