Just grabbed this from my town dump. Looks to be in great shape, but can’t test because apparently it gets power through the computer cable. Any work arounds or ideas?

I have all these displays from 15" to 17" to 22".
The 15" and 17" are the easiest to disassemble.
Disassembling is not a problem, if the display does not stand up the spring in the rear support is probably broken, I advise you to check.
You can find several guides on the net for the teardown, but it's not a complicated job.

seems to be considered a power mac g4 styled display. lcd, non-widescreen, native resolution 1280 x 1024.

You need an ADC to DVI adapter. It's not just a little dongle, it's a full power adapter too. You can find these on eBay and sometimes on shopgoodwill.com.

I got one from shopgoodwill for about $30. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you if any more get posted.

@rwh63 I have this exact same display and I use it from time to time with a 2011 Mac mini and even M1 MBA. What you need is an "Apple DVI to ADC adapter", this lets you use any DVI to Mini Display Port, DVI to HDMI or even DVI to USB-C dongle and use it with almost any modern Mac.
