2002 G4 help

I have a dumpster found iMac G4 Lampshade model that I cannot partition as the places to enter macjournaled on the form are grayed out. I would like to try to downgrade to Tiger 10.4 from its current 10.5.8 and concurrent OS 9.2 and cannot seem to figure it out. Help? Anyone in Denver want to see it, or help in person?
