Hi! My old but reliable iMac (still running OS 10.4.11 Tiger) was reading my LaCie hard drive just fine until a week ago, when I unattached the drive in a panic to take it to another site where I needed it. I may not have dragged the icon off the desktop, but I certainly turned the drive off before unplugging it. Anyway, tried to mount it on another (Mac) at my school to get some video data off it, but the school computer, while it mounted the disk, was unable to read my video data. This isn't the surprise (since it was running a different video editing program than my home machine) but the surprise was that, when I brought LaCie back home and plugged it in, no icon appeared on the desktop:confused:. Tried disk doctor, but it doesn't show up. Tried all varieties of shutting down, waiting, unplugging. The drive doesn't show up under "devices." I have a LOT of stuff on that drive and don't know what to try next. Can anyone help?
