Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some help. I just recently got a 2006 Quad core macpro and I have two questions. I would like to put a 2 TB hard drive in it, will it accept it? Can I upgrade the video card to one with an HDMI port? If so, which one do you recommend? Thanks for your help.

The 2TB drive is easy, grab the drive of your choice- mine is a Caviar Black- install it in the second bay, format it and go. If it's your replacement boot drive, just use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the contents.

You can't get HDMI with OSX, best you can do is a DVI or MDP to HDMI adapter. For a new card in a 2006, for simplicity you can't beat the Apple branded 5770. Plug and play with current 10.6 OSX.

An SSD is the best upgrade you can do. My advice is get an icy dock and 64GB SSD to use as a boot drive
