I need to know if I should make a maintenance report about my 2008 imac
One day it did not boot up. went to a white screen. I had recently encrypted my home folder. Everything is backed up on a time machine but I forgot my install disks back on campus. My apple care expires soon. Do i report the problem? Is there a fix without my Snow Leopard disks?

thanks , cant wait to give it a try. i will post the outcome

Solution and a Question

The computer booted randomly. I unplugged it and set it aside, came back and it booted when I hit the power. Now today my computer froze coming back from sleep and beach balled causing me to hold the power until off then turned it back on. same non-booting as before, i turned it off with a hit of the power and unplugged it then plugged it back in. This worked, It seems i have a problem, any thing you have heard of?
