i am trying to fix my 2008 iMac. I was trying the white screen with the folder with the question mark bouncing. I replaced the hard drive and I put it back together again.

Now I am trying to boot it from a USB drive with Yosemite on it. (It's a bootable disk texted on my laptop and works)

When I restart the iMac and hold ANY key combination, it doesn't ever work.

Usually if I hit NO keys it goes back to the same bouncing question mark box that I had with the other hard drive.

If I hold the "C" key
Or the "option" key
It just shows the white screen with the mouse. But nothing else.

I'm at the end if my knowledge of how take finish this one up???

Any ideas? I would appreciate them!!!

Thanx
