I have a 2008 Apple iMac that turns on (I can hear the fans spinning), but doesn't show anything on the screen, just black. No sound either. I have installed new RAM (compatible - from ifixit.com), but no display still. I have reset the SMC/PRAM, but same result. I ordered a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter so I can connect it to my external monitor to see if I get a picture, so that update is pending. Other than that, does anyone have any other recommendations?
[doublepost=1515365526][/doublepost]Update: So I took apart the iMac and checked the diagnostics lights and both 1 & 2 are solid green when I power it on, but 3 & 4 are off. From what I read, it seems to be the graphics card. Does anyone know if I can uninstall the graphics card and still use the iMac or do I "HAVE TO" have one installed?

You need the graphics card to display anything. For a 2008 (have one myself) you are past the point where it is worth fixing. You might find a repair shop that would try to fix it, but Apple will not even look at it.
