Hi,
I have a 2008, 24" iMac (for parts) whose screen is in good condition. I wanted to sell it, but I found that the backlight inverter board (or at least that's the part I think may be having trouble) makes a slight hum when the screen brightness is at anything BUT its maximum setting. The hum is likely only detectable by my 'young' ears, but I'd feel bad selling it like this, and I don't want to deter buyers by saying that something is up with it. Is the backlight inverter board easily removable, and is it viable to sell a display without its backlight inverter board? If I can remove the inverter board and sell the screen itself, I'll knock off the cost for a new one (which is about $30 shipped).
-Thanks,
MDD
