Hi everyone,
I have a early 2008 24" iMac that is shutting off when the inverter cable coming from the power supply to the LCD display is plugged in. The computer originally starts but turns off halfway through the chime and all of the diagnostic LEDs go off and stay off- indicating the power supply has stop receiving power - and does not restart until being unplugged and replugged in. When the LCD inverter cable is removed the computer works perfectly fine and boots albeit without backlight.
Any ideas? I think I have it narrowed down to the power supply or inverter but not sure how to test to see which one is going bad. Any advice would be appreciated!
