My 2008 Mac Pro died last week. I used it for work, so I needed to get a new Mac right away and settled on 2.8 Ghz i5 Mac Mini with a Fusion Drive.

The Mac Pro started giving me a chequerboard pattern on boot and then a line pattern and finally just got into a cycle of constantly rebooting and not showing the Apple screen.

Is it worth fixing or putting up on eBay? Our local Mac shop wants 78 Euros for a diagnostic.

Just sounds like graphics card TBH, might as well try changing it and see if that does the trick.

you can get relay cheep cards like a PC nvidia gt 610 i think plug and play no flashing or anything.
that will let you know if it's just the GPU without a big investment
