2008 Mac Pro Question

After buying my new 3.06 12 core, I gave my son my old 2.8 8 core (early 2008). He is using it for gaming in Windows 7. He has 12 gigs of ram, and currently just an ATI 5770. If he upgrades just the Video card to a GTX680 Mac Edition, would he get good frame rates with decent settings, at 1920 X 1080? If so I'll get him the card.

I've got the 680 in my 2008 Mac Pro with 18GB of RAM, and I get equivalent benchmarks with Diablo 3 compared to those barefeats.com articles.
