I have a 2009 27" that I just retired, likely because of failed thermal paste on a a logic or video processor (no longer operational so I don't have its particulars).

I then bought a used refurbed late 2012 a1419 27" 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i5 24GB 1600MHz DDR3.

The new unit has a crack in the upper right, and my older unit has a flawless screen. Are they interchangeable?

Ive removed the 09 screen before to get at the HD, and it wasn't a big deal, but before I tear in I was wondering if anyone knew of compatibility.

Anyone?

Looking on eBay it looks like all the Aluminum 27” (non retina) models and Thunderbolts display use the same 2560x1440 display.

LM270WQ1

Although there are some revisions.

Sorry, late to the party. V-Sync connectors may be different.

Yesterday changed OP Drive in Late 2009 27” iMac LM270WQ1 (SD) (A2) and it had a damaged 4-connector V-Sync ribbon cable.

Thought I’d change it out with a 2010 27” screen LM270WQ1 (SD) (C2) but that had a 4-wire w/plug V-Sync connector setup. So I carefully *repaired the damaged flat ribbon cable instead.

*Super glued
