Hello all,
Like everyone else, I'm pleased to see the new iMacs.
The new $1,499 24" looks particularly attractive, but I'm wondering - does it have the exact same LCD panel as do the "higher-end" models?
When Apple moved from the white to the aluminum iMacs, they slipped a cheaper "TN" panel into the 20" models, which drew numerous complaints.
The just-discontinued 24" iMacs retained the higher-quality panel.
But there are numerous 24" TN panels out there now, and I'd like to know if Apple has utilized a lower-end panel for the $1,499 24" iMac, or, if it's using the same panel as the discontinued models (which was an excellent display).
I checked the "comparison" page at the Apple online store, and it says nothing about "display angles", which might clue one in as to what type of display panel is being used.
It's probably too early to know for sure since the iMacs were just introduced this morning. But it's something I believe that savvy prospective buyers should keep an eye out for, until we know for sure.
