Hello All,

As the title states, I would like to know if a dual CPU board can be used in a 2010 Mac Pro.

I just purchased a board that was supposed to be for a 2010 Mac Pro, but when it arrived it was for a 2009 Mac Pro.

Since I don't have a dual capable CPU at the moment, I cannot test it.

Should I send it back, or will it work?

thanks for your comments.

Hi nebc100,

May I ask how much you paid for this board?

In case the board doesn't work for you and the price isn't entirely maddening, I'd possibly be interested in taking it from you.

Still, I hope it works for you!

Hello ExnomenDei,

To be honest, I didn't pay anything for this board. I swapped it (plus the two heat-sinks) for a 2006 MacPro and a pre-unibody MacBook Pro.

I was given a price quote of 759 GBP for the board + the two heatsinks.

I have contacted the seller to see if I can get the correct one, and I am also waiting for the CPU to arrive, and I will then test it. If it doesn't work, I will contact you and see if we can come to an agreement on the price.

If you want to contact me directly (not sure how PMs work on this site), my e-mail address is Nicholas cross (with the funny "a" in a circle symbol between the two words) dot LU.

Should quickly point out that I work in IT and DO know what the @ symbol is called, but am trying to avoid spiders getting my e-mail address easily.

Best regards.
