2009 dual CPU board in 2010 Mac Pro

Hello All,

As the title states, I would like to know if a dual CPU board can be used in a 2010 Mac Pro.

I just purchased a board that was supposed to be for a 2010 Mac Pro, but when it arrived it was for a 2009 Mac Pro.

Since I don't have a dual capable CPU at the moment, I cannot test it.

Should I send it back, or will it work?

To be honest, I didn't pay anything for this board. I swapped it (plus the two heat-sinks) for a 2006 MacPro and a pre-unibody MacBook Pro.

I was given a price quote of 759 GBP for the board + the two heatsinks.

I have contacted the seller to see if I can get the correct one, and I am also waiting for the CPU to arrive, and I will then test it. If it doesn't work, I will contact you and see if we can come to an agreement on the price.
