My iMAC (MB953LL/A) HDD (1TB) just died and I wanted to replace it with the spare 128GB SSD I have that came installed on a MacBook Pro Retina (Late 2012).

1. Can anyone guide me as to what is required to facilitate this transition to SSD (not sure what sort of SSD it is). What additional mounts/cables/pieces I will need to get this done.
2. Would like to know which make/model/type of HDD I would need to fit into the 2009 imac, incase SSD seems to be a complicated transition. I am asking as when I took to apple partner they made an issue that a replacement drive specific to this model is no longer available.

Thanks!
