Hi guys,

I'm super excited with my new iMac, and it's all working just peachy. However, my boot times are nowhere near the iMacs at the store. I've tested it, and the 2.66 GHz 24" model can boot in under 30 secs, but my 2.93 GHz machine takes a full minute. How can I speed this up? I've already tried Onyx, which helped a bit, but I still need to shave 30 seconds of my boot time. Help please?

How often do you have to cold boot your computer? How many login items do you have?

Consider sleeping your computer instead of turning it off.

No but I mean the boots I did at the store were cold boots also. So if an inferior machine can get 30 seconds, why can't my machine do this under the same circumstances?

Please check your number of login items and processes first compared to a display model.
